“Me And RnB”, the new music album by Antonio Koudele, makes it clear where his musical roots lie. Be it in the early 80s with his band “Fresh Air” or in the late 90s with his Brazilian “Grupo de Bossa Nova” or up until the 2020s with his Cuban formation “Aventura Cubana”, Antonio Koudele’s compositions always have a common thread – elements of “rhythm and blues”.
On his new album “Me And RnB”, Antonio Koudele recalls the time when, as a young guitarist and singer in the late 70s, he played his way through the soul, funk, blues and jazz scene of the American GI’s clubs and gained experience with the best musicians in these genres and thus found access to “rhythm and blues”. For many years, unpublished recordings and sheet music manuscripts from this period have been kept in the archive. Antonio Koudele took up these compositions with great enthusiasm and had a lot of fun re-recording them. “Me And RnB” now tells this story, sometimes groovy and rocky, sometimes bluesy and smooth, sometimes funky, sometimes soulful and balladesque.
